Merry Christmas you gorgeous lot!

I’m spreading the chocolately Christmassy love with this yummy bowl of zoats topped with everyone’s favourite festive treat.

Of course Malteser’s answer to Santa’s Rudolph, the one & the only “Merryteaser Reindeer”.

I whip up zoats quite a lot on my Instagram & I’m sure there are a few of my Insta besties wondering what the hell I’m doing adding grated courgette to my oats!

For those of you who are a bit zoaty hesitant I can promise you I really don’t taste the courgette. I guess that’s me but you are going to have to try it yourself to find out!

Adding courgette to the oats adds bulk to the meal & always keeps me feeling fuller for longer. It also adds some extra micros #health which is never a bad thing!

I actually prefer zoats to a normal average bowl of oats . It really does make the meal feel bigger & fuller which is what a fitgal wants in order to fuel up for a busy day!

So before you diss make sure to give this recipe a try before the festive season is over & out!

What you’ll need: 

1/2 small/medium courgette

1/2 cup of rolled oats

TBSP cacao

250ml of almond milk (or milk of your choice)

Sprinkle of sea-salt to taste

1 Malteser Merryteaser Reindeer

Optional – You can add extra toppings if you like . I added desiccated coconut for a snowy look. 


All you need to do: 

Grate the courgette with the skin on.

Place the grated courgette, oats, cacao, almond milk & the seasalt into a saucepan & mix well.

Cook until the liquid has been absorbed & the oats expand. This should take around 10 minutes.

Leave to cool for a few minutes, place into a bowl & top with your Merryteaser Reindeer.
